Architecture & Interiors: Tall Storeys Collaborative

The Verandah House was our first custom home project, initially built in 2010 as a weekend getaway. Initially created as a “home away from home”, it has been transformed into a primary residence!

In 2022, we were called back to redesign and renovate this sprawling villa into a full-time family home, while retaining its original “essence”. It now boasts three private ensuite bedrooms, a larger skylit kitchen and plenty of storage befitting a family home. A large verandah wraps around the house, protecting it from the summer sun & the monsoons; forming the communal space for gathering, relaxation and spending time with family & pets!

The architecture is intentionally minimal, with large windows in every room to frame the views of the landscape beyond. The interiors are also simple, yet understated & elegant - with a focus on comfort and longevity. We restored heirloom furniture and created a “transitional” character that evoked history & tradition and designed the spaces to be modern and practical.
